TBILISI. – Parliamentary elections in Armenian-populated region of Georgia, in Javakhk, are taking place with rough violations, opposition Georgian Dream bloc candidate Norayr Karapetyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am adding as of 2.00 p.m. it was taking place without any incident, however, the situation deteriorated sharply afterwards “I mean Akhalkalak and villages. It is noteworthy that mass violations are taking place in those precincts where the opposition has an obvious support among population,” Karapetyan said. According to the Georgian Central Electoral Commission, 5.3 percent of population has already participated as of 5.00 p.m. At the same time the main struggle is between opposition bloc head Bidzina Ivanishvili and ruling United National Movement Mikhail Saakashvili.
