January 16, 2010 at 4:57 local time 4.3 point earthquake hit Iran, Irna agency informs referring to the country’s seismological service.

The quake epicenter was 115 km south of provincial capital city of Khalkhal, Ardebil Province.

According to Khalkhal Governor Mohsen Eydi, no fatalities were reported.

The disaster destroyed some buildings, causing panic among the local population, the source says.
