YEREVAN. – Many Armenian lawmakers mocked incumbent Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili calling him a tie-chewing leader. However, he managed to establish a country where the opposition wins, ARF Dashnaktsutyun MP Vahan Hovhannisyan said in parliament on Tuesday.
In contrast, in Armenia the opposition has to appear before the court without any legal basis.
Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan responded to Hovhannisyan’s claims that he criticizes authorities, but he cannot live without them.
In his turn, opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) bloc secretary Aram Manukyan congratulated the Georgian people on the victory stating that Saakashvili is a serious political figure who behaved nobly and claimed he becomes an opposition.
