MOSCOW. – Russian MFA official representative Alexander Lukashevich expressed a serious concern about the actions of the Turkish side regarding the incident with the Russian passengers of Moscow-Damascus flight.

Russian representative stated that in emergency situation life and security of passengers, among them 17 Russian citizens, was jeopardized. Moreover, the Turkish side did not inform the Russian Embassy in Ankara that there were also Russian citizens in the plane, RBK informs.

The Turkish Armed Forces demanded the landing of Moscow-Damascus plane on Wednesday on suspicions the plane was allegedly carrying weapons. Relations between Syria and Turkey have been recently deteriorating, as Ankara openly supports Syrian opposition groups.
