Juventus goalkeeper Gianlugi Buffon was rated the best goalkeeper in the world in 1987-2009 according to the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS).

Buffon scored 87 points and topped the list. Real Madrid number one Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas ranked second (73 points). Manchester United legend and former Denmark goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel took the third place (69 points).
