Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad met surprisingly on the margins of the 12th Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit Meeting organized in Baku.

Following the speeches of the Turkish PM and Iranian President, the two leaders had a 40-miniute meeting, Turkish Hurriyet informs.

The newspaper says the main topic discussed during the meeting was Syrian crisis. Erdogan noted that Turkey was right in responding back to Syria after the latter attacked it, while Ahmadinejad agreed.

Earlier Turkish media said Erdogan-Ahmadinejad meeting was not scheduled.
