15th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) movement (Armenia has an observer status) was held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt on July 15-16, 2009. The organization was founded in September 25, 1961 and presently numbers 119 member-states. 16 states have observers’ status, at that 5 international and 2 national liberation organizations. Presently NAM is chaired by Hosny Mubarak, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Declaration signed by almost all OIC members and thrice as much states than in 2008, before the UN General Assembly are to prove, that Azerbaijan efforts are directed to misleading of their people and cannot yield results even if they smell oil or gas.

The Declaration on nations' self-determination was adopted in the summit, that contented a whole paragraph on nations’ self-determination without any territorial integrity mention.

The summit was under the slogan of “International Solidarity for Peace and Development”. The summit focused on three major issues: the current world situation, international hot-spots as well as difficult problems and defending the interests of developing countries. The two-day summit also focused on the challenges of the global financial crisis.
