YEREVAN. – The US national currency’s average exchange rate, against the Armenian dram (AMD), comprised AMD 409/$1, at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange on Monday. After a three-day pause, foreign currency trading is finally conducted at the stock exchange.

As expected, the dollar has significantly strengthened its positions, as the aforesaid exchange rate is a 0. 89-percent—or an AMD 2.62—increase from the previous trading session on October 30.

At the end of the trading session, however, the American currency was offered at AMD 408/$1. Most likely, Monday’s exchange rate “leap” is only short-term.

Monday’s sales totaled a mere $100,000 at the stock exchange

The dollar’s buying and selling exchange rates rose all the way to 406.5/$1 and AMD 409/$1, respectively, in Armenia’s cash foreign currency market.
