YEREVAN. – The construction of Meghri hydro power station will start in two days, the Armenian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Ara Simonyan said in the parliament on Tuesday.

The agreement on the construction was reached during the session of the joint Armenia-Iran Intergovernmental Commission held in Yerevan from October 22 to 25.

The construction of Meghri hydro power station will cost $300 million and will be fully funded by the Iranian side. About $10 million have been already spent on geophysical and geotechnical survey operations.
