YEREVAN. – Armenian capital city Yerevan Municipality plans to install route description guides in the city’s public transport stops, Municipality Press Secretary Artur Gevorgyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

But the Municipality’s attempts to improve the city’s public transport system have given the opposite result. Some public transport minibuses were removed, and, after the tender that is announced, 1,000 of the 2,500 such minibuses will continue their services, and buses will replace the rest.

In Arthur Gevorgyan’s words, solely 130 of the 249 buses, which were donated to Yerevan from China, are in operation. The Municipality has problems finding drivers for these buses. The tenders for public transport bus and minibus routes are planned to come to a close by the end of November.
