YEREVAN. – Head of the political council of off-parliamentary opposition Republic Party Aram Sargsyan met with the U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern on Thursday.

During the meeting, the sides touched upon Sargsyan’s recent visit to the U.S. discussing his meetings with the representatives of political and public circles, the party press service informs. They also exchanged views on democracy in Armenia, economic, regional developments and the Arstakh [Nagorno-Karabakh] peace process.

They pointed out the problem of public trust in election and political processes in Armenia. Ambassador Heffern and Aram Sargsyan also touched upon Republic party’s approach towards the upcoming presidential elections.
