Iran should get ready for new sanctions, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on January 25. According to her, Tehran has to hurry and establish cooperation with IAEA and enabling inspectors to verify whether the country produces nuclear weapons.

According to Jerusalem Post, Merkel told the diplomats in Berlin that “time is running out”, adding that extra sanctions will be “tragedy for Iranian people.”

The remarks by Merkel came just hours after German Der Spiegel weekly reported about Iranian nuclear program. The source refers to the secret dossier of intelligence at defense ministry that says Iran possesses “blueprints” for developing massive bomb.

As was reported today, Germany declared off a bargain on renovation of Bander Abbas port in Iran which is another evidence of increasing pressure by official Berlin. According to Israeli media, the contract was cancelled after pressure from Israel.
