YEREVAN. – History of contemporary Iran contains no anti-Armenian chapters, Armenian MP in the Iranian Parliament and member of Armenia-Iran inter-parliamentary group Karen Khanlarian said at a press conference on Tuesday.

“The number of the Armenian population in Iran reaches about 100-200 thousand people according to various data. The main problem for them emerges in the socio-economic sphere,” he emphasized.

The MP said socio-economic conditions are gradually deteriorating due to international sanctions imposed against Iran and incorrect economic policy of the leadership.

“This makes Armenians move to first of all to the US, Europe and, unfortunately, only a few to Armenia,” the MP said.
