YEREVAN. – After the Japanese film festival that was held in Armenia, there is a growing interest in the country toward Japanese culture and art, “Khikari” Armenian-Japanese Cultural Center Deputy Director and member of the Association of Teachers of Japanese, Ruzan Khojikyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am. 

Reflecting on the Japanese film festival, which was held in the capital city Yerevan and in Gyumri city from November 2 to 6, Khojikyan informed that the Japanese arts of origami (paper folding) and ikebana (formal flower arrangement) likewise were presented during the event. The ikebana was prepared by Hisako Naito, who lives in Yerevan for already a year and teaches Japanese at the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University.

Young Japanese musician Sakoto Isidze was the composer of the music that was performed during the festival’s official opening. “We are hopeful that in the future Isidze’s compositions will be performed at Armenia’s stages on numerous occasions,” Ruzan Khojikyan concluded.
