Internet in Armenia is basically attacked from the territory of China, Armenian Datacom Company network administrator Tigran Afrikyan told NEWS.am-Innovation. According to him, over the period of the company’s activities, several DoS, DDoS attacks were attempted, but they were prevented. “Geographically the attacks are mounted from the territory of China, but it is also likely that they are made from another state through China.”

Softwares and special equipment, providing company’s network security enabled to resist the attacks without “losses”. However we do not track the viruses, Trojans, Brutforces and cases of users’ Email accounts’ cracking. “Such attacks are attempted mainly individually. It the computer detects a virus through the user’s fault, it usually happens when he surfs on objectionable sites or get virus by spam, it is out of our bailiwick,” Afrikyan informed. Electronic security in Armenia is on initial stage, Internet just starts developing and today the security is number one issue to be tackled. Thus the country should pay more attention to the intensively of the global network use as well as make more investments in the field."
