Azerbaijan wants to take all, but Armenia offers only 7 regions, thus there are no reason to worry concerning Nagorno-Karabakh issue, NKR Former Defense Minister Samvel Babayans stated in “De Facto” club. “We do not have any reasons worry, as neither Armenia nor Artsakh Government can meet Azerbaijan wishes. So we have to be calm that there is no-one ready to satisfy their requirements in Armenia,” Babayan said.

Regarding the statement, that there are forces in Armenia and Karabakh permanently speaking of readiness to make mutual concessions, Babayan said: “As a matter of fact the Armenian authorities cede 7 regions to Azerbaijan. This is a reality. The question is whether Azerbaijan is satisfied with getting 7 regions? Obviously not. It demands even 12 regions plus Karabakh. That is the point. I am telling you, that even if there is a wish, it cannot be met.” It will be really dangerous if Azerbaijan is satisfied with 7 regions. “It would be a real danger, if one day Azerbaijan feels satisfied only with 7 regions, but I am confident that it is not, that is why there is really no need to worry,” Babayan added.

Former Minister considers that Armenia should not participate in the talks and let Karabakh authorities negotiate. “In general, Armenia should not negotiate, but instead to play ‘big papa’ like Turkey does,” – Babayan added regretting that Artsakh authorities cannot oppose Armenian counterpart. “I would prefer not to get into details and give reasons” – he emphasized.

It grieves him to see that Armenia is presented as a defeated party. “The winner appears a defeated party. There is no nation in the world that can willfully give its territories. Mutual concessions are out of the question. It is wrong, no matter who is the initiator. Looking at Aliyev I feel that it is we who lost, we should not stand their insolence. Whenever Azerbaijan offers their options for change, we can start a dialogue,” Babayan stated, outlining that Karabakh people should take care of themselves and stand upon their rights: “If one is reluctant to defend his freedom, he should not blame on anyone,” he concluded
