On December 11, the Head of the Beekeeping and Fishery Department of Armenian Ministry of Agriculture Tigran Aleksanyan informed the reporters that pond fish production in Armenia is expected to increase from 8.1 to 8.8 - 8.9 tons in 2013.

"We also have good prospects in fish export," he said.

If in 2010 Armenia exported about 500 tons of chilled or frozen fish, in 2011, the figure was already 1,270 tons. In value terms, exports increased from $ 3.8 to $ 10.1 million.

In addition, in 2012 the Ministry of Agriculture of Armenia began the translation of international standards of food safety to Armenian language, which will be given to fish farmers.
