If China does not back additional sanctions against Iran, it might experience diplomatic isolation, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said, addressing the students in the French war college.

According to her, Chinese authorities do not support sanctions against Iran due to their commercial interests. However, it cannot justify Beijing as presently Iran poses threat for entire Middle East, she added.

Clinton underlined that U.S. will do its utmost to have the UN adopting tougher resolution against Tehran.

U.S. Secretary of State warned against possible arms race in the Persian Gulf, adding that it might provoke Israel to carry out similar policy entailed by impending Iranian threat.

The day before, U.S. Senate endorsed the draft that empowers the country’s president to apply sanctions against Iranian oil suppliers and leaders.
