YEREVAN. – The main and most developing internet clientele in Armenia are families of miners and migrant workers, representatives of some Internet-providers told Armenian News-NEWS.am adding the most active clientele is in Kajaran and Alaverdi, as a result of major mining and metallurgical enterprises.
The internet demand is higher in the aforesaid cities as compared to other big cities in Armenia, which lack mining enterprises. Kajaran, for example, has the Zangezur copper-molybdenum plant, and is especially interested in the latest television-communication services.
Effective demand for Internet is focused in areas where seasonal workers from spring to autumn leave for (mainly to Russia), traditionally having high salaries. The internet provides free communication between the migrants abroad and their families in Armenia. Martuni and Artik cities of Armenia are famous for their rich families of migrants along with the nearby villages. Subscribers in those areas are using mainly Skype to connect to their relatives, who work in Russia.
