Armenia and Iran discussed the ways to expand bilateral relations during the meeting of Deputy Foreign Ministers Shavarsh Kocharyan and Seyed Abbas Araqchi.

Araqchi arrived in Yerevan on Monday to participate in the meeting of Iran-Armenia Political Consultative Committee, Fars agency reported.

Armenian and Iranian officials discussed  prospects for development of bilateral ties and exchanged views on the recent regional developments. The sides touched upon the Karabakh peace process and Syrian crisis.

During his visit Araqchi will also meet with Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and Energy Minister Armen Movsisyan.
