Not a single violation will be allowed during the upcoming presidential elections. This was stated at a meeting with journalists on January 26 by Armenian Parliament Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan, who is also the head of the electoral headquarters of the incumbent president and presidential nominee Serzh Sargsyan.
“I rule out any case of violation by the heads of local authorities, staff and governors. We have very strictly raised this issue, and we will do everything to make these elections conducted in accordance with articles of the Electoral Code,” Hovik Abrahamyan said.
He said that there must be no case of darkening and slinging mud at the electoral process. The head of the electoral headquarters of Serzh Sargsyan also noted that other political forces are also responsible for the election process, and it is not just a problem of the authorities.
As for the election campaign of the incumbent president, candidate for the president and leader of the Republican Party of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan’s campaign it is going on well. The Armenian Parliament speaker has not made any predictions about how many votes Sargsyan will get and also did not express his opinion whether there will be run off.
