make preferableYEREVAN. – It is no coincidence that Vazgen Sargsyan—the Armenian military commander, politician and writer who, along with several others, was assassinated during the Armenian parliament shooting on October 27, 1999—remained as the Armenian Supreme Commander for the people. National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan stated this Tuesday, that is, on the anniversary of Sargsyan’s birth, speaking to news reporters at capital city Yerevan’s Yerablur Military Pantheon. And therefore everyone comes to mark his birthday, he added (PHOTOS).
In his turn, Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan noted that Sargsyan was a person who has played a great role in the modern history of the Armenian nation. He also stated that the Armenian youth, the children should take after their great ones.
“They should take after my generation, they should take after Supreme Commander Vazgen Sargsyan,” Ohanyan added.
