YEREVAN. – The growth in the active role of women in Armenia’s society is noticeable. Moreover, they equally criticize the authorities and the opposition alike, opposition Free Democrats Party Vice-Chairwoman Anush Sedrakyan said during a press conference on Friday.  

“Women’s role in politics is passing from the formal phase to the real phase. Armenian women can have a real impact on politics,” Sedrakyan noted, and added as follows:

“A modern society is formed in Armenia, but the archaic attitudes are still kept. The society should demand that the people making public statements respect one another. The time has come for a woman to be convinced that she herself is responsible for the solution of all her problems.”
