YEREVAN.- Tension in Iran-Azerbaijan relations, without military actions, is advantageous to Armenia, expert Sargis Asatryan told reporters on Saturday.
Member of the Iranian parliament Nadir Gzipur has recently warned Azerbaijan against anti-Iranian moves, threatening to review “two shameful and imposed treaties of Gulistan and Turkmenchay.”
Armenian expert is confident one should not underestimate statements by Iranian MP, since such assertions sometimes create grounds for some actions of the states.
“I think it is a threat from Iran. Official Baku will have to refrain from anti-Iranian actions. And the fact that Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has reacted to this statement means that his country is really worried about the issue,” he said.
