YEREVAN. – Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan on Monday received Mark Horton, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission Chief to Armenia, and Guillermo Tolosa, the IMF Resident Representative in Armenia.   

The President thanked the IMF for its assistance being provided to Armenia and for the productive cooperation, the President’s Press Office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am

The IMF representatives reported to the President about the results of the final phase of the Extended Fund (EFF) and the Extended Credit facilities (ECF) being implemented in Armenia. Horton spoke with delight about the results of this program, and stressed that such successful completion will become a solid basis for talks with respect to a new IMF program in the country. He also considered the IMF’s collaboration with the Government and the Central Bank of Armenia to be effective.

The interlocutors reflected on the current state of Armenia’s economy, the primary directions of the country’s economic policy, the development programs, and the talks on a new International Monetary Fund program in Armenia.
