YEREVAN. – Armenia’s industry grew by 16 percent in 2012, and this is the highest indicator among all CIS member countries.

According to a report by the Armenian National Statistical Service, the second, in terms of industrial growth in CIS countries, is Kyrgyzstan, with 13.6 percent, and the third is Tajikistan, with 5 percent. Azerbaijan’s industry has grown by a mere 0.1 percent. Russia, Ukraine, and Moldova, on the other hand, have recorded a decline in their industries.

Armenia also has one of the highest indicators, with 7.2 percent, in GDP growth rate, being second to only Tajikistan, whose GDP growth rate is 7.5 percent. The GDP growth rate was 3.4 percent in Russia, 6.5 percent in Kazakhstan, 3.1 percent in Belarus, 0.2 percent in Ukraine, and 2.8 percent in Azerbaijan.
