YEREVAN. – During the most recent rally, Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) Chairman, businessman Gagik Tsarukyan invited those present to Abovyan city on May 14, to the official opening of the church that was built by the means his family had provided, Hraparak daily reports.  

“The lavish ceremony will bring together spiritual and secular representatives from a variety of countries, as well as Belarusian President [Alexander] Lukashenko, who is a friend of Tsarukyan. Even though Tsarukyan’s spokesperson assures that the list of the invitees is not yet finalized, [the spokesperson] also cannot say who will consecrate the church.      

[But] there is information that, on the same day, Tsarukyan wants to herald the [official] opening of a newly built recreation, casino, and entertainment center.    

‘There is no such thing; solely the opening of the church is envisioned on that day,’ [PAP Spokesperson Tigran] Urikhanyan said. But it is known that some have already ‘booked’ [the aforesaid center] to mark festive events. They say it is extremely luxurious,” Hraparak writes.
