YEREVAN. – French MP Valerie Boyer on Wednesday participated in a conference in the European Parliament titled “Armenian Genocide, a bridge for the reconciliation of Nations”.

Valerie Boyer was invited by MEP Eleni Theocharous, head of the EU-Armenia Friendship Group. Earlier this year Boyer and Theocharous visited Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh together, Nouvelles d'Arménie reported.

French MP, author of the law criminalizing denial of the Armenian Genocide, which, unfortunately, was canceled by the Constitutional Council, reiterated her strong commitment and importance of speaking in the European Parliament about the fight which is essentially a European one.

“France must move into its national legislation EU’s framework decision on combating certain forms and expressions of racism and xenophobia. With the approaching 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, denial policy of Turkey and Azerbaijan continues to spread on the French soil. Today more than ever our country must rise the voice in defense of the values ​​of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.
