YEREVAN. – Iran is ready to cooperate with Armenia on cattle breeding, Ambassador said.

During the Tuesday meeting with reporters, Ambassador Mohammad Raiesi recalled there is no agreement on  connected with grazing lands in Syunik Region. Ambassador said the reports are exaggerated.

The scandal burst out following Syunik local authorities’ visit to Iran where a protocol was signed on intention to implement program of grazing sheep in Armenian pastures.

Ambassador noted that Iran can cooperate with Armenia on cattle breeding as well as construction of slaughter house.

“Armenia has a great potential in this area. The country is capable of raising 5.7 million sheep,” he said. The Iranian diplomat noted that his country was currently importing meat from Brazil and Australia.

“Armenia is capable of raising enough sheep to export to other countries.”
