ISTANBUL. – Chairman Nazar Ozsahakyan of the Foundation of Surp Yerits Mangants Armenian Church of Istanbul petitioned to the respective department of the Ministry of Interior of Turkey, with a request to be given the lists of the Turkish citizens whose secret code is 2.   

The written petition requires submitting to them—and within the framework of the law on receiving information—the lists of all Armenians that are secretly coded, reports Demokrathaber website of Turkey.

The petition added that they need the lists of the Armenian voters, in connection with the forthcoming elections of the foundation board.    

To note, Istanbul’s Agos Armenian bilingual weekly recently reported that the Armenians of Turkey have a secret number code ever since the establishment of the Turkish republic, and this code is 2.

The aforesaid disclosure caused widespread reaction among the progressive society of Turkey.
