YEREVAN. – Russia, like every state, has its own interests and pursues its foreign policy on the basis of these interests, representative of the Armenian party said.

Spokesperson for Prosperous Armenia Party Tigran Urikhanyan referred to increase in military, technological and economic cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan in his comments for Armenian News-NEWS.am.

As for relations between Russia and Armenia, Prosperous Armenia member believes the countries still have to develop ties in all directions: military, political, and cultural spheres.

“From the point of view of security threats, we must remember that Armenia is a member state of the Organization of Collective Security Treaty (CSTO), and that’s it,” he emphasized.

As regards the statement by Vladimir Putin in connection with the settlement of the Karabakh conflict by political means, Tigran Urikhanyan noted that it is obvious there is no military solution to the conflict.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev during a press conference following the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, said the amount of military-technical cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan reached $ 4 billion, and this figure is on the rise.

“Azerbaijan is among the leading buyers of Russian weapons, which is considered one of the best in the world,” he said.
