YEREVAN. – There is a political persecution in connection with my professional and social activities. There is a clear order to hamper my social and professional activities.
Armenia Today Coordinator and activist Argishti Kiviryan stated the aforesaid during a press conference on Friday.
Kiviryan informed that three administrative proceedings and a criminal case are launched against him.
“I do not have any guarantee that coming out of the house, walking along the streets, no police officer will approach me in any way and engage in any act of violence, and subsequently they will not state that I am the one who organized any act of violence,” the activist said.
In turn Kiviryan’s attorney Lusine Sahakyan stated that the aforementioned three administrative proceedings were launched with apparent gross violations, and Kiviryan had been subjected to violence and no criminal case is filed in this connection.
“The authorities are carrying out an apparent prosecution. It is clear that criminal proceedings will not be instituted, and even if they are launched, there will be no result,” Sahakyan argued.
The attorney added that if no success is reached in Armenia’s courts, they will appeal to the European Court.
