Koobface virus became stronger and attacks the social networking websites. The statement by Kaspersky Lab says malicious program attacks such popular websites as Facebook and Twitter and uses cracked sites as its command server.

For instance virus can be spread by messages in Facebook. User can receive a message from one of his “friends” urging him to download a certain file. Thus, Koobface “is able to infect their system and it can commandeer the computer’s search engine use and direct it to contaminated websites,” reads newstraitstimes website.

The source quotes Kaspersky Lab EEMEA senior regional researcher Stefan Tanase as saying, “These latest happenings give us some indications of how the Koobface gang takes care of its infrastructure.”
