YEREVAN. – The regular session of the Council of Heads of Governments of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member countries was convened Wednesday in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

An Armenian governmental delegation, led by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, also participated in the event. 

The private talk among the heads of CIS governments was followed by an extended session, during which the discussants explored the avenues for the development of cooperation within the framework of the CIS.

Specifically, the participants reflected on the implementation of the CIS Free Trade Area Agreement, the use of energy resources, and production among the CIS countries. 

In addition, the participants of the meeting signed several agreements on cooperation and decisions on making amendments in a number of agreements.      

At the end of the session, it was decided that the next regular meeting of the Council of Heads of Governments of the Commonwealth of Independent States member countries will be convened in May 2014, in Ukrainian capital city Kyiv.
