Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu granted an interview to Italian L'Espresso weekly touching upon the parliamentary decisions on 1915 events. “Armenia and Turkey reconciliation was launched long ago. It's a good news, isn't it? Will the Parliaments’ decisions resolve the conflicts or impede them? It should be remembered that we lived with Armenians in peace for ages. Our goal is to preserve this,” Davutoglu said.

Turkish FM referred also the adoption of Armenian Genocide Resolution by the U.S. Committee on Foreign Affairs and Swedish Parliament. “Parliaments are not to write the history. I do not say this as a Minister, but an intellectual. It is difficult for those who are not one of us to understand that back then Ottoman Empire was attacked by different sides,” Davutoglu concluded.
