YEREVAN. – Armenia and Russia reaffirmed their commitment to resolve the Karabakh conflict peacefully. This was stated by President Serzh Sargsyan after talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Yerevan.

“I informed the President of Russia of the meeting with the President of Azerbaijan held in Vienna on November 19, and thanked the Russian side for their efforts within the format of the OSCE Minsk Group that is dealing with the Karabakh conflict. We bilaterally reaffirmed our commitment to resolve the conflict by peaceful means based on non-use of force or threat of force, equal rights of peoples and the right to self-determination and territorial integrity as a whole,” Sargsyan said.

Armenian president also said that the parties had agreed to continue a steady increase of Russian investments in Armenia.

“During the meeting the issues of regional security were discussed. In this context, we welcome the agreement reached in Geneva on Iran’s nuclear program that definitely is an important step in contributing to stability and security at the regional and global level,” President emphasized.
