YEREVAN. – The Armenian side has taken many steps in order to prevent the use of force in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict area, Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan told reporters.

Among them, the Defense Minister pointed at the measures aimed at improving combat capability, purchase of equipment and weapons, personal training, and coordination of military units. The results of this work can be seen during international exercises, too.

“We are developing military and military-technical cooperation. Engineering structures are constantly being reinforced. However, minor incidents or attacks occur and have always occurred. They happen less in winter time,” Ohanyan added.

Fewer incidents were registered over last two months because the Armenian side decided not to respond to provocations of the adversary. Although experience has shown that in such cases they act impudently and this must be punished, Minister Ohanyan said.
