YEREVAN. – The participants in Friday’s protest march, in support of Armenian activist Shant Harutyunyan and other political prisoners, walked toward the National Security Service (NSS) building, in capital city Yerevan.

On their way, however, the demonstrators stood on a street and blocked traffic.

Consequently, the police pushed the protesters out of the street, but a girl fell to the ground.

The participants in the march passed by the NSS building; but they stopped for a moment, chanted slogans, and moved on.

Next, the demonstrators walked to the Armenian-Russian friendship monument, where they chanted “Arch friend.”

“Russia continues the Stalinist regime. They [i.e., Russia] announce that they are friends [of Armenia], but they sell weapons to Azerbaijan, in the case when Azerbaijan announces that it will start a war against us [i.e., Armenia],” a participant in the march stated with a loudspeaker.
