YEREVAN. – In 2014 the administrative division of Armenia will undergo pilot changes, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration Vache Terteryan told reporters.
He noted that the Ministry believes that this change will help to target spending as it is impractical to have the same staff in smaller communities, if the volume of their work is less than in larger communities.
The deputy minister said the process will rise the degree of public work of local officials.
“I do not think that many people in remote villages - where any violation seems not that noticeable - accept possible abuses of administration. Now when communities become larger, they will have an opportunity to express their dissatisfaction,” Terteryan added.
