YEREVAN. – Serzh Sargsyan removed the direction of European integration from Armenia’s foreign policy agenda, opposition party member Vladimir Karapetyan said.

Karapetyan, member of the Armenian National Congress, said European integration is no longer a priority. Thanks to Serzh Sargsyan, Armenia’s relations with EU are inferior to relation between EU and North Africa.

“We do not have a document that can be a guideline for development of cooperation,” Karapetyan said. The ANC member regrets that many efforts were made, but now the parties have to start from scratch.

As to Armenia’s joining Customs Union, Karapetyan noted that presidents of Belarus and Kazakhstan had already outlined institutional and functional parts of the document on Armenia’s accession.

“The process obviously requires detailed talks, and member states have not agreed on existing problems,” he emphasized.
