YEREVAN. – Poland’s embassy in Armenia confirmed decision on granting Armenian citizens the right to work in Poland without a work permit for six months.

Spokesperson for the embassy Armen Ghazaryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the decision concerns not only the citizens of Armenia, but the citizens of other states.

The statement on the European Commission website reads:

“Since 1 January 2014, Armenians will have the right to work in Poland without a work permit for six months during twelve consecutive months on the basis of an employer’s declaration of intent to hire a foreigner.

The amended ordinance on cases when employment of a foreigner on the territory of the Republic of Poland is possible without the necessity of obtaining a work permit - signed by the Minister of Labour and Social Policy - will enter into force on that date. At present, only citizens of five Eastern countries are entitled to this privileged system of employment: Ukrainians, Belarusians, Russians, Georgians and Moldovans.”
