Defense minister of Armenia, Seyran Ohanyan, provided some details on the Azerbaijani military diversion team’s recent attempt to infiltrate into Nagorno-Karabakh.  

Ohanyan informed Tuesday that the attempt was prevented owing to the heroic efforts by the Armenian soldiers at the military stations.  

“That is, nine people were able to thwart about three dozen diversionaries and make them return to [their] starting point,” the minister explained.  

The diversionary teams of the adversary had attempted to carry out a simultaneous infiltration at the line of contact between the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing forces.   

The attempts were recorded at around between 11:50pm on Sunday and 12:15am on Monday, in the northeastern (Jraberd) and the southeastern (Korgan) directions of the line of contact. 

As a result of the ensuing skirmish, Junior Sergeant Armen Hovhannisyan was killed at the military position located in the northeastern direction, and from the gunshot wound he sustained from the adversary.
