YEREVAN. – A consultation meeting devoted to military medicine was convened Friday at the Armenian Ministry of Defense (MOD). 

The event brought together Defense and Health Ministers Seyran Ohanyan and Derenik Dumanyan, and leading representatives and specialists from the Armenian Armed Forces and the health sector, the MOD press service informs.  

Colonel Kamavor Khachatryan, Head of the Armed Forces Military Medicine Department, presented the respective activities carried out in 2013, and stressed that the military medical service of Armenia is unswerving in the health issue of every soldier.    

It was decided to set up a joint interdepartmental professional group, from the Defense and the Health Ministries, to investigate the causes of the illnesses that are developing at lightning speed in recent times, and to take the necessary preventive measures.
