UK Ambassador to Armenia Jonathan Aves commented on political crisis in Ukraine, noting that his government is deeply concerned about the situation.

“I know Armenians are following the crisis in Ukraine closely. The tragic death of an Armenian Ukrainian citizen is a vivid and very sad illustration of the close ties between the two countries,” he said.

“The British Government is deeply concerned about the situation. We welcome the talks between President Yanukovych and opposition leaders which appear to have produced some specific ideas on a way forward from the current crisis. I am sure that we all send the Ukrainian people our best wishes as they face historic decisions about their country’s future.”
