YEREVAN. – Robert Kocharyan is opposition for Serzh Sargsyan because he wants his resignation.

Armen Aghayan, a member of Armenia’s Hayazn Party, stated the aforesaid at a press conference on Wednesday.

“The PAP [i.e., the Prosperous Armenia Party], which is backed by [second President] Robert Kocharyan who wants to snatch the office of incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan, can be considered an opposition in Armenia,” Aghayan said.

In his words, the Armenian opposition is very diverse, and the country’s pro-European political parties are very strong.

“Today, those [political] forces that attempt to release Armenia from the clutches of the Russians and give it to the European organizations should be considered the opposition [in Armenia],” Armen Aghayan concluded.
