YEREVAN. – The fourth President of Armenia should conduct a political party reform, Marxist Party of Armenia leader Davit Hakobyan noted at a press conference on Thursday.
As per Hakobyan, the fourth president needs to unite Armenia’s 85 parties within two major parties.
“That is, he should create parties around ideas, not persons, so that the parties are created upon common goals, not personal [ones]. Individuals appear and disappear, whereas the ideology remains,” the Marxist Party leader added.
In his view, two main and strong political parties—a socialist liberal democratic party, and a bourgeois-liberal democratic party—should be created in Armenia.
