YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and his Czech counterpart Milos Zeman stressed that the friendship of Armenian and Czech nations is a solid bases for development and deepening of relations between the states.

They emphasized importance of further active work to implement the arrangements reached during the state visit of Armenian president to the Czech Republic.

On Thursday a reception was organized in honor of President Sargsyan on behalf of President Milos Zeman. The presidents addressed the guests summing up results of the visits and prospects for development of bilateral relations.

In his speech President Sargsyan said that the Armenian people gratefully remember the names of the sons of Czech people, the first post-World War Czechoslovak president Tomáš Masaryk the Czech writer and humanist, Karel Hansa who shed light on the activities of the first genocide of the 20th century – Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey in 1915.

He also noted the names of linguist Bedřich Hrozný, translators Wacław Czerny, Ludmila Motalova, who translated the works of great Armenian poets Avetik Isahakyan, Paruyr Sevak and many others.
