YEREVAN. - The Armenian National Statistical Service has released its latest data.

Accordingly, 2,476,350 people arrived in Armenia and 2,507,538 people departed from the country in 2013; the negative balance was 31,188 people.

In addition, the difference between arrivals and departures in the year past had reduced by 11,623, as compared to 2012.

The drop in the rate of emigration from Armenia becomes more visible when we compare the 2012 and the 2013 indicators of the border-crossings of persons with Armenian documents.

Accordingly, the negative balance of the people who arrived in Armenia with Armenian documents last year is 7,659 less than the same indicator for 2012.

As of January 1, 2014, the permanent population in Armenia made up 3,017,400 people, whose urban and rural population is 1,914,300 and 1,103,100, respectively; this indicator dropped by 9,500, as compared to the previous year. Armenia’s urban and rural population reduced by 3,200 and 6,300, in that order, over the course of one year.
