YEREVAN. – The staff of counting committee of the Armenian parliament will be enlarged.

The parliament on Monday voted for the decision of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) with 67 votes for. The decision will allow the ruling collation to have majority in the committee.

Head of the RPA parliamentary group Galust Sahakyan offered to postpone the decision, but four factions not involved in the ruling coalition – Prosperous Armenia, ARF, Armenian National Congress and Heritage – refused to participate in the vote in any case.

In response, speaker Hovik Abrahamyan said non-coalition parliamentary factions want to ruin parliament’s work. After the vote, representatives of four parties said they would give up their duties in the counting committee.
