YEREVAN. – If the authorities’ initiative to set up a parliamentary ad-hoc committee on the natural gas issue becomes yet another imitation, the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) will discuss the matter of whether or not joining this committee.  

PAP National Assembly (NA) Faction Secretary Naira Zohrabyan stated the aforesaid at Friday’s NA briefing. 

“If their objective is that the initiative to set up a committee rises from them and they plan to treat the matter seriously, we are not against the committee being named after the [ruling] Republican Party of Armenia,” Zohrabyan noted,  

In her view, however, conceptual changes are in need to come out of the current situation.

“The four parliamentary factions [specifically, the Armenian National Congress, Prosperous Armenia, ARF Dashnaktsutyun, and Heritage] are forming a joint political agenda, and we will move forward by the method of small steps,” Naira Zohrabyan said.
